We needed somewhere to put things like mail, keys and bits and bobs like that. I used a single piece of oak for the top. This came out of a large plank, also used in my coffee table. I thought it would be nice to use oak from the same tree as a few times in the living room. I have 1 board of oak left from the tree and will eventually use it somewhere in the living room.

The stand out feature on this piece of furniture is the table shelf. i made this by laminating lots of 'off cuts' from other projects together and tried to be irregular with the type and width of wood. I used Oak, Walnut and Cherry
