We needed somewhere to put things like mail, keys and bits and bobs like that. I used a single piece of oak for the top. This came out of a large plank, also used in my coffee table. I thought it would be nice to use oak from the same tree as a few times in the living room. I have 1 board of oak left from the tree and will eventually use it somewhere in the living room.

The stand out feature on this piece of furniture is the table shelf. i made this by laminating lots of 'off cuts' from other projects together and tried to be irregular with the type and width of wood. I used Oak, Walnut and Cherry

 My head board frame is made out of oak, the middle is MDF covered with foam and fabric, which can be removed and replaced, to match bedroom furnishings.
